Wow. Life repeats itself? NOT ANYMORE

Since I decided it was time to blog again, I figured that meant it was also time to revisit previous posts.. and wouldn't you know.. on January 26th 2009 I posted a blog listing 12 things I wanted to do in 2009... Guess what. I didn't do them. But let's revisit and see where we can make more progress...

12. I want to seriously look into getting licensed to do hair. I would enjoy it immensely and it would be nice to be a professional.

Right... so that didn't happen. And I can tell you why, but wouldn't that be making excuses? Actually, now that finances are different, and my work commitment is different, it could totally happen.

11. Get my own place. This is probably the biggest thing I want to do this year. There is so much I love about living with Melissa and Brian, but I want somewhere where I can get up in the middle of the night to get a glass of water and not have to worry about finding clothes.

I got my own place! And it is cute. And you walk in and it looks like I love here. YAY! (Thank you Mel)

10. Get a pet. A giant rabbit tops my list, but a new kitty or puppy would be good too.

I got a BUNNY! Hims name is Bunners and he is fat!

9. Go to the gym at least twice a week. Even with my work schedule, if I can only go in on the weekends, I want to go.

Still want to go..........

8. Go back west. (I totally just got the credits to Pretty Woman in my head... did you?) There are some serious parts of Seattle I miss, some people I would like to meet in person for the first time, and some people I just want to see.

Just got back from a vacation! And I went out west! And I totally loved it. LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE

7. Work less or more, but find the happy medium. Even though I don't think about work when I leave the office, I also don't want to ever think about what is going to be waiting for me when I get back. Whether I work more to do that, or work less, it doesn't matter.

I have a different job. and I work no more than 45 hours a week. WOOHOO!

6. Go to the dentist. I have now got no less than 3 broken teeth. I think I need at least 1 more root canal, and I definitely need to have a tooth pulled. There is a reason my dad had dentures at 21, and I think I have reaped the genetic benefits of that act.

I guess... umm... well... I haven't even gone.

5. Find a new hobby. Or resurrect an old one. I really want to do pottery again. I wonder if there is anyone that would like to go with me?

Still need a hobby. Who wants to take a pottery class with me?

4. Spend more time at Disney. There are a million of you that would say that I already go a lot, but the fact of the matter is, there is so much that I miss there.

So I did spend a lot of time at Disney, until my pass ran out. Then decided it was a good time to wait and not renew right away. But it will happen again. I feel like this one was accomplished.

3. Talk to more people on the phone. I rarely return phone calls, and never initiate conversation. There are a billion people I need to talk to and miss back home, it's about time I did that.

Epic Fail. And any of my good buddies will tell you that. Still a work in progress though.

2. Show my Dad Orlando. I hope to have the chance to do that in the Spring when my dad travels across country on his first vacation in over 10 years. (Sound familiar? I'm only up to 3 years, maybe 4)

Well, I took a vacation,, and dad is supposed to come in May. So this could happen.

1. Be happy. I've been lucky to meet this requirement for most of 08, and definitely this first month of 09, all I ask is that it continues.

So I don't know if you know this, but I was completely lying here. BLATANTLY. Two months later, I managed to finally go see a doctor and get on medication which helped... A LOT. so. I guess I did accomplish it. WIN!

So revisiting this list has brought quite a few things into perspective. Namely, that life is a work in progress. And it will be until it's over. And that's okay. You don't have to figure it out all the time.

Oh Snapz.

There are a great many things I love about my job on a day to day basis.

One of the most amazing is the fact that I still wake up on Saturday mornings ready to go, even though I don't have to be up and doing something. No sleeping in here, I am ready to go and ready to get on with my day.

Generally this means a trip to Disney, but today just meant catching up with my life. Cleaning, doing laundry, paying bills, and writing to you.

The last few days have been crazy in a great way. They have been some of the most personally fulfilling days of my life. I just don't even know what I would do without my boys, and I have to thank them everyday for that.

Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday were spent at our sales kickoff. This year was the first time I actually got to breath. I had told myself that everything would happen and work it's way out and low and behold it did. I just can't begin to explain to you the good time it was. I got some great insight in the minds of some great sales people, and figured a few important things out for myself.

The two weeks before that are a blur. A BLUR. Year end always is, and although this year was nothing like the last one, I am positive that I didn't remember my name for a few days. It was great :)

Outside of work not much has been happening and I'm okay with that. The Mothership came to town and we had a BLAST!!! My mom is amazing, and I couldn't be happier to call her my mother. She makes me proud with how much she has grown and changed since divorcing my dad, and it's great to know that she's where I get a lot of me from. We didn't DO a whole lot, but we relaxed ourselves silly. I even took some time off of work and it was great. We did SeaWorld one day, and that was cool for the first time. I enjoyed the fact that the animals are so much fun and HOLY COW feeding the rays was great! It's the oddest feeling but oh so cool. We also did a day at the beach which was an amazing amount of fun. I just enjoy talking to and spending time with my mom. She has a love of life, and finds joy in the simplest things. I can't say enough how much I thank her for teaching me to enjoy what I have and what I'm doing. And to not always look for something better, but at least be aware that it's out there.

I STARTED BOWLING AGAIN! Well I kind of did. I got a ball drilled that I had Dad send down with Mom and practiced for a few days. Fundage ran a little short and then mom came to town and then year end and kickoff. But now that all of that is over the fundage will eventually work itself out and I will be able to bowl again. One of the activities during kickoff, not scheduled by me mind you, was bowling. And guess who beat all those guys with a house ball and rental shoes with the highest game? Moi. of course.

Let's see... The disney has been great and I have been going regularly. Trav just got himself an annual pass so let the fun times begin! We will be visiting regularly I assume and it's going to be awesome :)

Well let's see, other than that I got a whole lot of nothing. As always, much love and adoration to you.

Oh my friend, it's good to see you again...

Ah...

The tan, toned body is a happy body.

Throat, tonsils, and adenoids... I thank you for the learning experience. I also thank you for the two weeks of liquid diet and bland food which prepared me for the upcoming weeks and got me to stop eating so much junk food.

ps. You rule.

:)

It's no small secret that quitting food was hard for me. Face it, I like the stuff. But I quickly found that being rested, having good food in my belly, and getting a little work out on makes me a happy camper.

That and a saturday afternoon room redecoration, but that's a whole other story.

I found after I started "eating" again that I had an AMAZING amount of energy. And then I got to thinking, well duh! of course! I haven't been rested in ALMOST A YEAR. Can you believe I have been going through this no-breathing-no-sleeping-extreme-headaches-constant-fever for almost a year?

(Ray, that is your fault, btw, I won't hear any different)

So I've been going to the gym (all of two days) but for the first time in a long time I actually left the gym wanting to go again the next day. I know that seems odd, but for the longest time when I could actually get myself up to go all I wanted to do afterward was sleep for 3 days to recover, it was ridiculous.

I just feel good.

I can't imagine feeling better.

I know I say that a lot.

But to hell with it, I'm happy with myself, and my life, and whenever I get that way things get better. Which I can't seem to stop.

Now, on to the room redo...

I have decided to just forget pretending like I like color. Unless silver is a color,\ it's all about black and white. I guess that excludes eyeshadow (Paint me a rainbow), and some clothes (every once in awhile black tank tops like to have friends)

So the teal has gone away. And it is being replaced. I'll post pictures soon.

I know I should listen to my sister whole heartedly when she tells me what to do to my room. She tells me, "imagine you are about to watch someone put on makeup, with your makeup tray"... but dammit, I don't want the sticks by my chandelier painting.
